The collision occurred around 4:59 p.m., bringing traffic to a standstill in the southern region of the Las Vegas Valley.

UFC Vegas 106 fight week is underway. For the first time in the month of May, MMA’s No. 1 promotion returns to its Nevada homebase for the final installment of UFC Fight Night to take place before a bye week for the Memorial Day holiday next week.

This Saturday night, the UFC Apex facility in Enterprise, NV will serve as the epicenter of the MMA universe for UFC Vegas 106. As usual, inside the United States, live coverage of the show begins with the undercard at 4 pm ET/ 1 pm PT on ESPN+

Main card action caps off the evening’s action at 7 pm ET/ 4 pm PT on the Disney-owned streaming platform. All told, if there are no 11th-hour adjustments to the fight card, Saturday’s UFC Vegas 106 will feature a schedule of 12 MMA bouts.

The night is headlined by a contest in the welterweight division matching No. 8 contender Gilbert Burns (22-8 MMA, 15-8 UFC) against No. 12 contender Michael Morales (17-0 MMA, 5-0 UFC), the latter being a 2021 graduate of Contender Series.

UFC Vegas 106 Featured Prelim: Gabe Green vs. Matheus Camilo

At the top of the bill on the prelims in UFC Vegas 106 this Saturday, action will take place at 155 lbs between Gabe Green (11-5 MMA, 2-3 UFC) and Matheus Camillo (9-2 MMA, UFC promotional debut), a veteran of Tuff-N-Uff and Texas’ Fury Fighting Championships.

Gabe Green, who has a 2-3 record in his last five fights, will be making the walk in the featured undercard bout on Saturday evening for the first time since May 13, 2023. That afternoon, during UFC on ABC 4 from Charlotte, NC, he found himself on the receiving end of a first-round knockout due to a right hook from Bryan Battle (12-2, 1 NC MMA, 7-1, 1 NC UFC) on the prelims in a welterweight contest.

Green was scheduled to return to the famous UFC Octagon on April 27 of last year. His scheduled bout that weekend versus James Llontop (15-5 MMA, 0-3 UFC) was postponed ahead of the card after he withdrew from the event due to an injury.

Gabe Green has had more than two years away from MMA and this is his first fight since moving down to the lightweight division. With a clean bill of health now afforded to him, will his debut at 155 be a success at UFC Vegas 106 on Saturday?

Meanwhile, Matheus Camilo will be entering the Octagon for the first time this upcoming weekend, having posted a mark of 5-0 in his last five fights as part of an ongoing six-fight winning streak. Most recently, he bested Dorobshokh Nabotov (8-1 MMA) by way of unanimous decision right before the holidays last December.

Camilo is on a hot streak going into his initial test in the Octagon. He’s earned his place on the UFC’s active roster. Now, it’s all up to him to stay there, and it starts on Saturday evening in the UFC Vegas 106 featured prelim. How will he fare? Tune in and find out.

Immediately beforehand, the co-featured preliminary bout of the evening also happens at lightweight. Jared Gordon (20-7, 1 NC MMA, 8-6, 1 NC UFC) meets up with Thiago Moises (19-8 MMA, 8-6 UFC.) The former comes into the weekend having posted a 2-2 record with one no-contest in his last five bouts.

Back in June of last year, he sustained a split decision loss after three rounds of action at the hands of Nasrat Haqparast (18-5 MMA, 10-4 UFC) during UFC on ABC 6 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia during the evening’s featured prelim. Gordon was supposed to have made the walk this past February at the UFC Apex in UFC Vegas 102.

During the official weigh-in window the morning before the show, however, his would-be adversary that weekend, Mashrabjon Ruziboev, encountered a medical issue and wasn’t cleared to battle Gordon, who weighed-in at the lightweight nontitle maximum of 156 lbs. Having to go through the entirety of training camp after a change in opponent, only to not fight at all, is a frustration of the highest order for any combat athlete.

Expect to see Jared Gordon use the 11th-hour cancellation from February as motivation in the UFC Vegas 106 co-featured prelim.

Across the way, Thiago Moises will be entering Saturday night’s show with a record of 3-2 over the course of his last five bouts dating back to January of 2023. The co-featured prelim will mark a return trip to the UFC Apex facility for Moises as he bested Trey Ogden (18-7, 1 NC MMA, 3-3, 1 NC UFC) on Jan. 11 during the first UFC Fight Night of 2025.

This weekend’s fight will be Thiago Moises’ 29th career appearance and if he gets his hand raised in victory, it’ll be his 20th career win. Will Moises reach that milestone on Saturday evening?

Also on the UFC Vegas 106 undercard, you’ll see a featherweight contest matching Connor Matthews (7-3 MMA, 0-2 UFC) against Yadier DelValle (8-0 MMA, UFC promotional debut.) Matthews is still on the hunt for his first win in Dana White’s promotion, having lost two fights in a row as part of a 2-3 record in his last five appearances in MMA.

Last time out, he sustained a first-round knockout loss to Jose Delgado (9-1 MMA, 1-0 UFC) in the latter’s UFC debut in February from the Apex facility in Enterprise. This is Matthews’ second consecutive bout where his foe will be making his debut in the promotion. Will the third time be the charm for Connor Matthews’ first victory as a member of the UFC, having just taken this fight a few weeks ago?

In the other corner, Yadier DelValle is a tough customer at the shop for Connor Matthews to face off against. He has yet to lose in MMA as a professional going into UFC Vegas 106.

On finale night of Contender Series’ eighth season last October, he picked up a unanimous decision victory over Antonio Monteiro (17-5-1, 1 NC MMA) after 15 minutes, scoring his UFC contract at the end of the evening. DelValle turned pro in the sport in June of 2019 and he hasn’t looked back since.

Almost six years later, he finds himself in the UFC. Can he go 2-for-2 at the Apex this weekend?
