Whether it's for breakfast, lunch, or dinner, Georgia has plenty of different sandwich shops. But which one is the best?
Yelp released its list of the top 100 across the state, including a few in the Augusta area. Below are the four that were highlighted.
Willie Jewell's Old School Bar-B-Q (No. 45)
Address: 3512 Riverwatch Pkwy, Martinez
Yelp review: "In Augusta for the Masters and we had time to kill so we found a BBQ spot about 15 minutes away from Augusta National....The amount of food and how good each dish was, I was impressed! From the ribs to the brisket to the pulled pork, you cannot go wrong! Also the price for the three meat combo was less than $25, these prices are crazy cheap for the quality and amount of food you get! Also they had four different types of bbq sauce for you to try and they were warm! 10/10 would recommend if you are in the area!"
Jackie M's & Son (No. 67)
Address: 3308 Milledgeville Rd, Augusta
Yelp review: "This place was amazing, and the food was absolutely delicious. Everything made to order, with excellent service to get your order to your expectations. We had the original and jerk Philly (would have loved to add BBQ sauce) with fries, for drinks my favorite the kool-aid mango peach and tea. For a chill spot, go pull up to Jackie M's & Son!"
The Brunch House of Augusta (No. 85)
Address: 573 Greene St, Augusta
Yelp review: "Our meal was absolutely delicious! Our party ordered the strawberry and apple stuffed French toast, candied bacon, salmon croquettes, regular French toast, and a breakfast sandwich and everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meal. I will definitely be back the next time I am in town."
Jimmy John's (No. 59)
Address: 4274 Washington Rd, Evans
Yelp review: "This JJ is the best! We quit going for a long time because of a different location. The staff here are extremely friendly, sandwiches are always correct and fast! Thank you guys for all your hard work!"

AUGUSTA, Ga. – Augusta University softball earned its most significant win of the season on Saturday morning, defeating No. 8-ranked and 2025 Peach Belt Conference regular season champion North Georgia 10-6 at Jaguar Field. The victory marked Augusta's first win over North Georgia since 2013 and snapped a long-standing series streak.
With the win, Augusta improves to 26-25 overall.
Augusta 10, North Georgia 6
After falling behind 2-0 on a first-inning home run, Augusta responded immediately in the bottom half. Ayellad Howard walked, and after a double from Bailee Roberts, Payton Terrell drove in Howard with a two-out single to left.
The Jaguars broke the game open with a seven-run third inning. Howard walked again to lead off and moved to third on a single from Chesney Miles. Roberts followed with an RBI single to right to tie the game at 2-2. Singles from Ansley Gibson and Nevaeh Ross, along with a walk from Terrell and a hit-by-pitch drawn by Cadance Winder, loaded the bases and put Augusta ahead. Grace Bailey then delivered a two-run double down the left field line, and Howard capped the rally with a two-RBI triple to the gap in left center. Augusta sent 11 batters to the plate in the inning and took an 8-2 lead.
North Georgia responded with four runs in the fourth to make it 8-6, but Augusta's bullpen closed the door from there. Terrell earned the win with 3.1 innings of relief, and Madalyn Spinks earned her second save of the season by tossing the final 3.1 scoreless frames, allowing just one hit.
The Jaguars added two insurance runs in the sixth. After a walk from Kaylynn Scaffe and a sacrifice bunt from Howard, Miles drove in Scaffe with a single to center and later scored on a fielder's choice grounder by Roberts.
Roberts went 2-for-4 with a double, two RBIs, and two runs scored. Howard reached base three times and finished with three RBIs and a triple. Bailey added two RBIs, and Terrell, Ross, and Miles each drove in one run.
Augusta recorded nine hits, drew four walks, and committed no errors defensively.

Every April, the sports world turns its eyes to Augusta National, where one of golf‘s most iconic and traditional major events unfolds: The Masters. But this year, a new tradition is quietly taking root just beyond Magnolia Lane.
DraftKings and Sports Illustrated partnered last weekend to present the first-ever Augusta After Dark, sponsored by Homes.com—an invitation-only experience for top-tier members of DraftKings’ Dynasty Rewards program. The centerpiece? An intimate performance by the Dave Matthews Band.
For those lucky enough to attend, it was the kind of night that doesn’t feel real until you’re in it. A setlist built for the devoted; premium cocktails and culinary treats in hand; the hum of golf’s most historic week hanging in the air; and Dave Matthews doing what he does best—turning a space into a memory.
Matthews took the stage solo for a rare, 60-minute acoustic set that felt more like a personal jam session with the audience. Stripped down and intimate, the setlist featured fan favorites like “Crash Into Me,” “Ants Marching,” “Satellite,” and “Save Me.” Without the full band behind him, each song took on a new, more personal feel—just Dave, a guitar, and a crowd that hung onto every word.
The intimate setting also attracted a star-studded crowd, with sports legends like Ken Griffey Jr., Nomar Garciaparra, and J.R. Smith, along with musicians and entertainers such as Miles Teller, Nikki and Brie Bella, and Joey Fatone. Their presence added an extra layer of excitement, blending the worlds of sports, music, and culture, making the night even more unforgettable.
The choice of DMB to headline the event wasn’t accidental. Their mix of soul, improvisation, and storytelling has long drawn the same loyal, experience-hungry audience that DraftKings targets through its Dynasty Rewards program.
“Our goal at DraftKings is to create world-class experiences that resonate with our most loyal customers, and Augusta After Dark embodied that vision,” says Shawn Henley, Chief Customer Officer at DraftKings. “Working with Sports Illustrated allowed us to elevate the experience even further, and having an iconic performer like Dave Matthews ensured a night to remember at one of the most celebrated events in sports.”
The DraftKings Dynasty Rewards program turns everyday play into elevated perks, letting customers earn Crowns and Tier Credits that unlock access to exclusive experiences, merch drops, and more. Think airline miles or hotel points, but with a sports and entertainment twist. And while the rewards go big, responsible gaming stays grounded—DraftKings integrates smart tools to help players keep their play fun, mindful, and in check.
Now in its 13th year, DraftKings is doubling down on cultural relevance. With Dynasty, they’re not just offering VIP seats—they’re curating unforgettable access. From private shows to championship sidelines, the goal isn’t just perks. It’s presence.
“We’ve found that to really connect with our customers, we have to be everywhere,” said Matt Kalish, President of DraftKings. “Last year, we did hundreds and hundreds of events across sports and entertainment. This year, it’ll be even more—and I wouldn’t be shocked if we show up at 500 to 1,000 events in 2025. Whether it’s the Super Bowl, UFC, or intimate nights like this one in Augusta, we’re tapping into the moments that matter to our players.”
As Dave Matthews played, the lyrics drifted into the Georgia night, mingling with the unmistakable energy of a week that belongs to tradition—but just this once, made room for something new.
