If approved, the project site would include:
The project applicant, Architecture Plus, Inc., is seeking approval of the Lone Tree Retail commercial project, consisting of development of three buildings: a car wash, quick service restaurant, and combination quick service restaurant and retail building, along with associated site improvements
Proposed Businesses and Hours of Operation
The developer proposes to construct tenant spaces for four businesses in three buildings: a drive-thru car wash (Parcel E), drive-thru quick service restaurant (Parcel F), and a combination drive-thru quick service restaurant and retail space (Parcel G). The applicant has prospective tenants for three of the four spaces: the car wash is proposed to be operated by Mister Car Wash, the standalone quick service restaurant building is proposed to be operated by Habit Burger & Grill, the quick service restaurant in the combination building is proposed to be operated by Chipotle, and the retail tenant is to be determined.
The proposed hours of operation are as follows:
Chipotle intends to apply for a class 41 ABC license to serve beer and wine for consumption on site. Per Antioch Municipal Code, restaurants that derive more than 50% of their gross receipts from food are not subject to the same restrictions as liquor establishments.

Planning Commission Action
On February 19, 2025, the Antioch Planning Commission held a public hearing regarding the proposed project. At the close of the meeting the Planning Commission voted 4-0, with two Commissioners absent, to adopt a resolution recommending that the City Council adopt an addendum to the Initial Study/Mitigated Negative Declaration for the project. A second vote was held to adopt a resolution recommending that the City Council approve the Final Development Plan, Use Permit and Design Review for the project. This motion failed in a 3 – 1 vote with one Commissioner opposing and two Commissioners absent. Per Antioch Municipal Code, Planning Commission resolutions require at least 4 yes votes for adoption. Therefore, the Planning Commission did not adopt a resolution recommending City Council adopt or deny the Final Development Plan, Use Permit, and Design review for the project.
During the Planning Commission meeting, Commissioners asked City staff and the project applicant a range of questions, including topics such as the need for and appropriateness of a car wash in the proposed location, impacts of the project on water and sewer systems, the status of the adjacent proposed residential project, the project’s parking plan, and environmental analysis performed. Four letters/emails of public comment were received for the project prior to the Planning Commission hearing. This includes three letters of support: two from neighboring property owners and one from the developer of the adjacent proposed Commercial Infill Housing residential project. One member of the public provided written comment suggesting that the project be explicitly conditioned to require landscape screening around the drive-thrus and along Lone Tree Way. No members of the public commented on the project during the Planning Commission hearing.

VACAVILLE, Calif. – Travis Credit Union Foundation announces the application deadline has been extended for its 2025 Financial Coaching Grants program until March 31. This initiative is an opportunity for one Northern California nonprofit organization to access $30,000 in unrestricted funding and up to $9,000 to train its staff to become financial coaches. “Our hope is that through this grant, we can create a ripple effect of positive financial behaviors that will benefit not only the individuals directly involved but the broader community,” said Damian Alarcon, president of Travis Credit Union Foundation. “Financial stability is a cornerstone of a thriving community, and we are committed to making a lasting impact.”

Those who apply and are selected as coaches will undergo comprehensive, three- to five-month long, self-study training through the Credit Union National Association (CUNA) and/or Financial Counseling for Empowerment Program (FICEP). Upon completing the course, coaches will be equipped to address a wide range of financial topics, from summarizing saving principles to educating community members about credit reports, credit scores and the wise use of tax refunds.
The TCU Foundation is committed to supporting nonprofits throughout the grant’s lifetime, ensuring that financial wellness outcomes are achieved. The foundation will monitor financial coaching goals, metrics and outcomes related to reduced debt, increased savings and established and/or improved credit scores. Renewal preferences are given to nonprofits with a demonstrated record of coaching more beneficiaries.
The grant application will close on March 31 at 11:59 p.m. PDT.

ANTIOCH, CA — A new Chick-fil-A® restaurant is set to open soon in Antioch.
The Chick-fil-A at Lone Tree Way will officially open for business at 6:30 a.m. Thursday, April 3.
The restaurant is bringing 100 jobs to the community and will be run by owner-operator Evan Hawthorne—fulfilling a dream nearly eight years in the making. Hawthorne started his journey with Chick-fil-A as a team member at his father-in-law’s restaurant in Fremont and advanced to general manager. Now, he is thrilled to become the local owner-operator of the first Chick-fil-A in Antioch.
"Chick-fil-A holds a special place in my family’s heart, and I am forever grateful to my father-in-law for introducing me to the brand—it has truly changed my life," Hawthorne said.
To celebrate moo-ving into town, Hawthorne and his team will give one free entree to community members who visit the restaurant on opening day decked in their finest cow spots. Whether it’s a full-on cow suit or a simple cow-spotted accessory, all guests are encouraged to join the fun.
It is a way to celebrate the new food spot and Chick-fil-A's iconic cows seen in TV commercials and on billboards. Guests dressed in cow attire on opening day can redeem the free offer inside the restaurant or in the drive-thru.
Keeping the celebration going, Hawthorne plans to give back to the Antioch community by:
